The Bahamas is an archipelago of approximately 700 islands and cays with a population of about 300,000 plus. It is very near the United States of America, as Bimini Island is just 50 miles south of Miami. The capital city of The Bahamas is Nassau, which is found on the island of New Providence. New Providence is the most densely populated of all of the islands.

The number one industry of The Bahamas is still Tourism- The Economist Intelligence Unit claims that since 1996, Tourism has been responsible for a real GDP growth of 4 percent per annum in The Bahamas.
The second largest industry in The Bahamas is the Financial Services Sector. The Central Bank of The Bahamas on its website declares that The Bahamas, by the standards of developing countries has a highly developed and dynamic financial sector, providing a wide array of services by several types of intermediaries.
The local fishing industry also plays a major role in the framework of Bahamian industry.
